The Green Thumbs UP urban farm, located on the 3rd floor of Daniels Spectrum building in Regent Park, is ready to grow- and we want your ideas for the next chapter! Currently, our rooftop farm includes 2000 sq ft of cultivated, growing space featuring:
4 garden rows for crops, each 40 feet long
2 large garden patches (sunflowers + corn)
Pollinator gardens along the edges
Full sun exposure and complete irrigation
5” of soil depth, which we mound to create deeper garden beds
Print out the following page and design it by hand. Use markers, pencil crayons, cut out pictures, finger paints - anything goes! Make it your dream farm!

When creating your garden, think about adding creative spaces for people and creatures. Maybe add a tea garden, a berry bush grove, benches, or a micro prairie. Get creative with the layout too, feel free to go beyond traditional, straight rows.
There are some weight and structural restrictions to what can be added to the roof - but don’t worry about that right now, let your creativity flow.

Submissions are accepted from March 1st to April 10th, 2026.
The first 10 designs submitted will receive a Green Thumbs tote bag! All designs will influence the layout for the Green Thumbs UP roof top. We will announce the new farm design on April 26 2026, at our Spring is in the Air event. Have fun!
