School Food Garden Tour

I went on a school food garden bus tour yesterday with FoodShare and Toronto Public Health, and friends. it was very cool to see the various gardens and have a chance to chat on the bus with friends i don’t see enough of. i thought a lot about how green thumbs works deeply in our school communities and how teachers could use gardens in schools without a community partner but how much harder it is. However, we have to do a balancing act because if we are too available and do too much of the work they don’t feel the ownership that we want them to feel.
